The month of September is here and we were so excited to stage in the every popular German Village right below downtown Columbus.
This particular historic home was built in 1910 and had exposed brick, wood floors and personality everywhere. This house is really just perfect for entertaining. Close to multiple hotspots in German Village (Schmidt’s, Schiller Park, Book Loft, the list goes on…), we have a feeling that the home will be filled with visitors weekend after weekend.
Let’s take a look at some of the interior features that stood out.
The entry shows off the gorgeous wood staircase and a perfect spot to kick off your shoes and drop off your keys. Up the staircase exposed brick peeking out of the painted walls – what an artistic feature!
To the right of the entry is an open living and dining space, with exposed brick, a fireplace and lots of built-ins to show off your tchotchkes. We loved showing off several of our multiple “Columbus” pieces, like the street name poster, the Columbus sign and a cow for our beloved cow-town.
Right behind this adorable living room is the dining room. We brought in green and orange décor to play off the exposed brick, and the neighboring kitchen terra cotta floors & green cabinets. The kitchen has high-end industrial appliances, additional peninsula seating, perfect for entertaining. The kitchen windows have open shelving for displaying dishes and direct views out to the large brick patio for more entertainment space.
The second floor has three bedrooms and an updated full bath. The master bedroom has a custom closet with multiple drawers and storage, which helps free up space in the room for seating space. The spacious guest bedroom has a queen-size bed, an adorable dresser with all the guest amenities (sparkling water, a water tray with drinking glasses, towels) that will make any guest feel welcome.
One of our favorite spots to play up was a corner nook. We brought vintage pieces from our inventory, such as the suitcase and large globe to create a perfect reading space. We finished the third bedroom with our airplane-themed décor. Lastly, the fully updated bathroom with open shelving and new fixtures finishes out the second level.
A finished attic with a bench seat to view the Columbus cityscape and daydream is a perfect multi-functional space. We see buyers using this area as a second living room, an office, or even an art studio.
This home was so fun to stage, and we were able to think outside the “staging” box a bit. We love German Village and we think buyers are going to jump on the opportunity to own this home.
